Falling Leaves

Our first fall in Northern California. Bliss I tell you!

Growing up, I never put much thought into the seasons changing, rather it was a marker for school starting or a count down to Christmas.  I didn’t care that the leaves turned brilliant colors of yellow and orange or how fresh the crisp morning air smelled. I didn’t realize that these were things I had missed out on the past eight years while living in Southern California.

We returned from Florida to find that our big tree out front had littered the yard with a gazillion little leaves! I was so excited to take Broderick out to play in it, and had visions of him throwing the leaves everywhere and making a big splash with them. However, I am not sure he shared in my excitement.  Rather, he picked up a few, grasped them tightly and continued on his way into the street. Oh well, maybe next year! I planned to post just one picture, but I couldn’t decide, and since I am the boss around here, here are all three!
