At last, the birth announcements are out which means I can share Grant’s newborn photos. I promise taking photos of your own kids is the hardest thing, but add a recovery from birth, having to be the one to feed, sooth, change diapers and backdrops all before actually snapping a single picture and it seems impossible!  Buuuuuut somehow I made it through and now have these beautiful pictures to treasure forever.

I love to write letters to the boys to document my feelings and their milestones. So here is my little letter to our dearest Grant.

“Dear Grant – You are here…and you are ours. Ours to love. Ours to hold. Ours to teach. And ours to share with the world. While you might only be 3 days old, I have known you for 10 months. You were always so gentle to me. Your jabs were soft and sweet (almost) never causing me pain. Even your entrance to this world was one of beauty and sweetness. With a labor only lasting 3.5 hours you did your best to be gentle.

I love learning and hearing the sounds you bring to our house. You do your best to not cry and reserve it for cold wipes and diaper changes. When you cry, you sound like a little kitty cat calling for his mother. You prefer to make high pitch squeals rather than full blown cries. 

You are small and little now, but I know you will grow up to be a strong guy with a big, caring heart. Brother Broderick does his best to love you, but I think you scare him at times especially when you cry. When you cry, he gets very concerned and offers you his Lambie which is the highest token he can possibly give. 

You have already warmed your way into our hearts and we are so thankfully to God for giving you to us.”
